I’ve always been against new year’s resolutions, believing instead that a regular assessment of your life is far better. However, being the optimist, it is exciting to look forward to the year ahead. Like looking at a garden covered in deep fresh snow, wondering where you’ll leave your footprints.
January this year falls at the start of preparations for two big events: The London Marathon and the Edinburgh Festival. I’ve taken a lot of stick for my lack of training for the marathon. Of course I have done some but I know that it’s nowhere near enough and so from today am aiming for 4 times in the gym a week, running for an hour and more if possible. I’m wary of over-doing it at the start but I think an hour’s an acceptable aim. I have to admit, I am actually now petrified about the marathon. You can donate here: www.justgiving.com/sherlock-forde
Then Edinburgh, the annual highlight of my year. I get so excited about it, seeing friends I won’t have seen for months and making new mates. I’m hoping that ‘Fordy’s Lock-In’ will make a return, with a few changes. We’ll see. It’s time to start putting things together again though which always gets me going.
I’ll keep you updated on all of it, hopefully with some photos and videos.
